What we do
We sit between you and a panel of lenders. You tell us your situation once; we work out which lenders are realistically likely to approve you, and at what cost. You then decide whether to proceed.
We are not a lender. We do not provide credit, we do not hold your money, and we do not make the approval decision. Every loan we arrange is provided by a third-party lender under their own credit contract with you.
Why we take applicants other brokers turn away
A default on a credit file is a fact about a moment in the past. It is not a fact about a person. Illness, redundancy, a relationship ending, a business that did not work — these leave the same marks on a credit file as carelessness does, and lenders cannot tell them apart from the data alone.
Our panel includes lenders who assess capacity to repay now rather than conduct then. That is why we ask about your employment and income before your credit history: the first two determine whether we can help at all, and the third only determines the rate.
Where we are honest is at the boundary. If you are not currently working, our panel cannot fund you, and we say so immediately rather than lodging an application that will be declined and leave a mark on your file.
How we are paid
The lender pays us a commission when a loan settles. You pay us nothing, at any stage. The commission structure is disclosed to you in writing in our Credit Guide before you commit to anything, and the actual amount is disclosed again before settlement.
We are required by law to act in your best interests when providing credit assistance for consumer loans. That obligation sits above our commercial interest in a loan settling, and it is enforceable by ASIC.
Licensing and oversight
Local Capital Pty Ltd holds Australian Credit Licence 393689, issued by ASIC. We are a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, member number 45276. AFCA provides free, independent dispute resolution — if we cannot resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, you can take it there at no cost, and their determination binds us.

Where we operate
We arrange finance for residents of all Australian states and territories. Applicants must be 18 or over and an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
